The Wylie Football League (WFL) Cheer program is a recreational program that focuses on cheerleading fundamentals and sideline cheering for our WFL football teams.  Participants do not need to try out and do not need any prior cheer experience.  Returning and new participants will be placed on squads as long as there are spots available on returning squads or new squads can be formed as long as we have volunteers willing to coach the squads.  Participants are placed on squads according to several factors including age/grade and skill level.   Our cheer squads consist of participants in grades 1st - 6th grade.

The WFL Fall Game Season runs September through November each year.

All of our squads are coached by volunteers and we are always in need of Coaches and Assistant Coaches.  All coaches must be at least 18-years old or older, pass a background check and be willing to commit their time and effort to a squad for the entire season.

Coaches do NOT need to have any previous cheer or dance experience. A guide to cheerleading basics and a suggested practice curriculum will be provided to each coach.  You will also be provided a video playlist of suggested cheers, chants and other relevant videos.

Registration may close early if all spots are filled and we are unable to find coaches for new squads!!   Please consider volunteering your time for the upcoming season.
